TNT Group recently announced that the company will invest 8 billion yen (75 million US dollars) to build new plant for manufacturing diameter more than three meters wind turbine bearings. Expect the new plant will be put into operation in 2009.
New plant is based in Japan Ishikawa (Ishikawa prefecture), the construction work will begin in spring 08. New plant will be mainly for the Japanese domestic wind turbine manufacturers,The sales volume of 2012 is expected to be 70 billion yen.
Until March 2007 there are about 1300 wind turbines in Japan, compared with 2000 increased four-fold. Therefore ,there will be a sharp rise in demand on the motor and wind turbines tower bearing in Japan.
Bearing in Japan three major bearing manufacturers have expanded production, but they do not produce bearings of diameter more than three meters .In addition, foreign manufacturers such as SKF Bearing Group is also actively strengthen supply to Japan with very large wind turbines tower bearing
